SAINT AGAPIUS
SAINT AGAPIUS
Martyr and valiant defender of the faith. A Christian in Caesarea, Palestine, Agapius was taken prisoner in the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian. Three times he suffered imprisonment for the faith, released after enduring torture each time. Arrested a fourth, he was offered a pardon if he denied Christ. When he refused, he was penned up with a wild boar. The animal inflicted severe damage on him but did not kill him, so officials drowned him the next day. Died: 306, Feastday: November 20 & August 19.
