Saturday, October 26 : saint Theodore of Tabenna
Let us give thanks to God, the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, to have made us worthy of receiving a little joy in the abundance of our sorrows. It has indeed appeased our felled heart, by increasing our humility and strengthening our faith. Let us therefore pray firmly and with the tears to grant us his pity and his forgiveness. Let him be worthy to say: “You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy” (PS30,12). (…) What God is looking for in us are the fruits of the Holy Spirit; We must not be negligent there, because it is about them that we will be questioned. Let us think of stimulating each other, so that we produce all our fruits in what appeals to God. Let us know that God takes care of us; Let us work on what is necessary for the body and strive to become a pure temple for God. Well, my brothers, make sure that none of you are excluded from the assurance, on the day when the glory of the Lord is manifested: ““In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” ”(He 10,37-38).
