Friday, February 23 : Odes of Solomon
Draw from the waters of the living spring of the Lord, for it has sprung forth for you (cf. Isa 12:3). Come, all you who are thirsty (Isa 55:1), receive the water that quenches your thirst. Rest by the Lord’s spring, for it is beautiful and pure; it gives peace to the soul. Its waters are sweeter than honey, the bees’ honeycomb cannot be compared to it, for it springs forth from the Lord’s lips, it draws its name from the Lord’s heart (cf. Jn 7:38). It flows and is eternal and invisible; before it appeared, no one had seen it. Happy are those who have drunk from it and who have pacified their thirst.
