Friday, June 27 : Saint Charles de Foucauld

It is good, is it not, to give oneself up all together to the Heart of Jesus and to let him do everything for us, and to remember that whatever happens, except of course sin, happens by his will, and that even sin is permitted by Him. One can and should get good out of everything, even one’s faults. It is good to feel we are in such kind hands and lean on His Sacred Heart. It seems as though Our Lord cannot show us enough love and power and wisdom, whether he shows himself as a Father, a Brother, or a Spouse. We are indeed blessed, we poor little creatures. Misericordias Domini in aeternum cantabo : I should like to say nothing else all the rest of my life, as in the next they will be my only words. Let us melt away, let our thoughts dissolve into praise and thanksgiving over the goodness of God for all men. Tell ourselves as we contemplate His love that we are one of these little creatures He so loved that He lived and died, and shed His blood for each of us.
