Monday, October 13 : Saint Theodore the Studite
Hasten as long as time is running out (cf. 1 Co 7.29). Sow the virtues in your hearts, in order to collect a fruit of justice (cf. pH 1,11). That no one lets itself be brought down, for fear of being said by the author of the proverbs: “observes, lazy, the ant and the industrial bee” (Pr 6,6). That no one is misleading or unfair, by driving in one way and speaking of another, for fear of being pushed back, according to the words of the Holy Psalmist David: “The Lord will exterminate all deceptive lip, all proud language” (PS 11,4). That no one is idle, relaxed and dissolved with soul and body, lest it be inflicted on the part of the divine Paul this blame: “As for the lazy that he does not eat either” (2 Th 3,10). Let no one be proud, for fear of being targeted by these words of the divine Jacques: “The Lord resists the proud, but he gives grace to the humble” (JC 4,6; 1 p 5.5). But all, let’s walk well awakened in the Lord, let’s fulfill his commandments, let us bring to what is somehow the treasure (cf. MC 41-44) of our life the contribution which is in our power (…). May no one absolutely appear to the eyes of the living God with empty hands (cf. MC 12,41-44)! Because he accepts not only the offering of heavy jobs, but also that of the little ones (…), as he accepted the two sous of the widow; God, in fact, measures intentions and it is on them that he judges the actions. Since therefore, my children, we have a good and full of mercy and who wishes more than we salvation, walk on his right path and we will find rest for our souls (cf. Mt 11,29; JR 6,16).
