Saturday, April 22 : Saint Clement of Alexandria
Let us pray to God’s own Word: Show kindness to your children, O Teacher, Father, Leader of Israel, you, O Lord, who are both Son and Father, one alone and two together! Since we obey your commands, grant us to attain perfect likeness to the image (Gn 1,26), to understand, according to our ability, the God of goodness and the Judge without severity. May you yourself bestow on us all things: to live in your peace, be transported into your city, pass through the storms of sin without drowning, be carried over peaceful waters by the Holy Spirit, your inexpressible Wisdom. Grant us, both day and night until the end of time, to sing praise and thanksgiving to the Only One – Father and Son, Son and Father, Son, Pedagogue (1Cor 4,15) and Teacher, and also to the Holy Spirit. All things belong to the Only One in whom are all things, through whom all things have unity, through whom is eternity, of whom we are all members (1Cor 12,27). To him are the glory and everlasting ages, to him who is Good, who is Beautiful, who is Wise, who is Just! To him be the glory now and for ever, Amen!
