Sunday, December 10 : Book of hours of Sinai
Before dawn I come to you, you who in your compassion made yourself nothing and suffered (Phillipians 2) without change in favor of the fallen man and who, remaining impassive, you bent even to the passion, oh Word of God: grant- me Peace, friend of man. You have become, O Blessed Temple of the Trinity, and here it is that together in your Holy Temple with a fervent faith we beg you, precursor: “Deliver us of temptations and afflictions, you worthy of all praise. I who have returned my foreign spirit to all virtue, I beg you now,O Blessed One, which has etched into our existence a whole new way: “Give me the familiarity with the God of the Universe and make me grow in virtue with admirable progress . You who plunged into the currents of the Jordan, the abyss of mercy, O prophet, by your intercession, dry up the multiple sources of my vices by giving me streams of tears. Glorious virgin in your divine ornaments, you have given birth to the all beautifu man : that he therefore always allow himself to be swayed by your prayers and save us from corruption, we who glorify you with faith and love.
