Sunday, January 21 : Venerable Madeleine Delbrêl
People who, in Jesus Christ have the unique occupation of belonging exclusively to God, of being available to him to accomplish his will, and to live the Gospel in the Church and in the world. People whose occupation is to enable God’s will to move them, so that Christ is their first love; so that they love what he loves as he loves; To be in “ready mode” for anywhere, or anything; To live interpret the gospel, imitate it in any situation or circumstance, both in the Church and in the world. To be a people for whom God is enough, in a world where God often is nothing; People who have sacrificed a normal life to acquire the freedom to obey, badly but as well as they can, to the Gospel received from the Church. Being people for whom God overflows among those around them. (…) People who will always be for God and his church but do not know how, or even where. (…) People for whom the cross of Christ is the greatest of skills, so that the glory of their God will shine. Children of God and the Church that suffer from feeling illegitimate; But who believe in the blood of grace flowing in them. They want – to the extent that God wants – the “scandal of the cross and its madness”. They do not want to build cities: they are living stones, in this world , for the true city of their God. Yes, all fraternal charity is compulsory, and passes above all in our humaness, our simple efforts to share our faith, but only because they are God’s and God is love.
