The saving mystery of the Cross, You revealed and showed it in the evening; And your body, source of life, You distributed and gave it like the Cup. Deign with the holy Assembly To make me also a participant in the Table, In your Bread of Life for which I hunger, And in your Drink for which I thirst. You washed their feet in the basin With your pure hands, And you taught humility First in word, now in deed. Wash away also the mire of my wickedness Through the supplications of the holy Company And direct the steps of my feet By the path of humility toward Heaven.
