First, by your divine Spirit
The soul of the Blessed Virgin was sanctified,
And the power of your heavenly Father Covered her in his shadow. Then, You, the only Son of the Father,
You descended willingly into its bowels:
You have truly become flesh,
God and man, the two forming one. You were born with our human body,
You who were born first of the Father incorporeally;
You took away the pains of the first man,
Covered with leaves, thanks to your swaddling clothes. O You the Word, in the manger of the one deprived of speech
To be food for him who is gifted with speech,
O You Light, manifested by the light of the star,
The Magi, thanks to this, adored You. The Choirs of Angels had descended into the cave,
And served You in Your holy Nativity;
They informed the shepherds and announced the Good News to them;
They sang: “Glory to the highest! ”
