Thursday, May 29 : Blessed Marie-Eugène of the Child Jesus

The fullness of Christ descends on each of us. We receive his grace which makes us participate in His divine filiation and in all His privileges. We are sons and heirs of the father like him; We are priests and kings with him. (…) Our participation in Christ is not only receptive, but it is active. Christ rising to the father sent the church to the world, as his father had sent him, to preach, baptize and save. The life He spreads is love. This love, because very diffusive of self, is always moving out for new conquests. Those he has indwelled are also drawn into his movement and become instruments of his action, canals of life He spreads. This is the Church of which Christ is the head: “It is through him that the whole body, joined and united by all the links which serve it, each member keeping its own operation, achieves its organic growth and rises as a building in charity. »(Eph 4.16) This is the thought of God which is gradually realized, but surely, despite all the obstacles, through the centuries. It is the great reality, the fact that dominates the history of peoples and the world. It is the end and reason for all things. Also, when the total Christ has reached ” maturity attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Eph 4,13), the figure of this world will pass and the reality will appear: that of Christ “in whom God has deployed the strength of his arm when he raised him from among the dead and makes Him sit at his right side, above all powers and principalities”, accomplishing his design by giving Him “as head of the church which is his body”, and ensuring “the completion of the one who is completely perfect with his members” (Eph 1,20-23).
