Thursday, November 5 : Saint Nerses Chnorhali
Your royal image, Imprinted upon the human countenance, I have buried deep within the dung of vice, Led astray by the perverse counsels of the Evil One. Deign to seek it out with the light of a lamp— The light of Your Divinity, dwelling within a human frame— And, as in the parable, sweep clean my house, Purging it of the vices of this world. By Your command, the woman performed this act— A figure of the Church— So that she might summon her exalted neighbors To rejoice in my conversion. Grant that I, too, may share with them In the celebrations held in my honor, That I may rejoice alongside those who exult— Those who never had to mourn the burden of sin.
