I understood that it is a great pleasure to belong entirely to God, given his infinite greatness. God honors us to call us to His holiness. I understood this by the comparison of a king who chooses one of his subjects to be his solely, and who does not want him to do any service to anyone, if not to himself, who wants to have all his friendship; Especially if the prince is of great merit. We love the king, although we have never seen him, prhaps we will never see him, even though this king may not love us, may ignores our feelings, may not know us and that he can assign us any role. And God, whom we do not see, in truth, but that we will see forever, who sees us, who loves us, who does well for us, who witnesses all our thoughts, we cannot love him! – It’s that the king is our master. -And God is not, and even more so, our Creator, and our Father, etc. ? If God reigns in us, everything in us will obey him, everything will be done at the least of his commandments, nothing will be done without his order. In addition, we will try to please him in all things, we will study his inclinations, we will try to preceed His desire, we will do, always and in all, what we will believe should please him more; Because these are the two things we have with regard to kings: blind submission and extreme deference, do what pleases God and what he likes more.
