“Let your light shine before men so that, seeing your good works, they may glorify your father who is in the heaven” (Mt 5,16). Who would not recognize the presence of God where authentic virtue appears? For this, in truth, does not exist without God, andthose that belong to God cannot atain it without being strengthened by the creative spirit. The Lord said to his disciples, “Without me you can do nothing” (Jn 15.5); This means that the man who does good, holds from God the realization of his work and the beginning of his desire. This is why the apostle tirelessly urges believers with these words: “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling; Because it is God who produces in you the will and action “(Phil. 2,12-13). This is enough to inspire Christians for fear that, in the exaltation of their good works, they find themselves deprived of the help of grace and abandoned to their natural weakness. (…) Those to whom it is said: “The kingdom of God is inside you” (Lk 17,21), do nothing but by the Spirit of the one whose will leads them. Knowing therefore, my brothers, that “God is charity” (1 Jn 4,16), ” There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” (1 Co 12,6), look for charity so that the hearts of all believers unite in the same feeling of pure love.
