Moisés subió a la montaña del Sinaí, como el Señor se lo había ordenado, llevando las dos tablas en sus manos.
El Señor descendió en la nube, y permaneció allí, junto a él. Moisés invocó el nombre del Señor.
El Señor pasó delante de él y exclamó: “El Señor es un Dios compasivo y bondadoso, lento para enojarse, y pródigo en amor y fidelidad.
Moisés cayó de rodillas y se postró,
diciendo: “Si realmente me has brindado tu amistad, dígnate, Señor, ir en medio de nosotros. Es verdad que este es un pueblo obstinado, pero perdona nuestra culpa y nuestro pecado, y conviértenos en tu herencia”.

أعرف يَنبوعًا يتفجّر ويتدفّق، إنّما ذلك في عُمق الليل. هذا الينبوع الأزليّ، يبقى خفيًّا؛ إلا أنّني لا أجهل مصدره، وذلك في عمق الليل… أعرف، والحقّ يُقال، أنّه من دون بداية، مع ذلك كلٌّ فيه يُعمّق جذوره، إنّما ذلك في عمق الليل. لن يوجدَ أبدًا جمالٌ يوازيه، السماء والكون يرتَويان منه، إنّما ذلك في عمق الليل. أعرف جيّدًا أنّه لا يُسبَرُ غَورُه، ولا يُمكن عبورُه، ولا حتّى في عمق الليل. بَريقُه الجميل لا يمكنه أن يُظلِم أبدًا؛ وكلّ نورٍ ينبثق منه وحده، إنّما ذلك في عمق الليل. أعرف جيّدًا أنّ فيضه المتدفّقٌ دون توقّفٍ يسقي الهاوية والأرض وكلّ الشعوب، إنّما ذلك في عمق الليل. بَيدَ أنّ مجرىً يُولَد من هذا الينبوع، واسع وقويّ كالينبوع نفسه، إنّما ذلك في عمق الليل. مِنَ المجرَيَين الأوّلَين، ينبثق ثالثٌ؛ هو ليس أقلّ قِدمًا من اللذَين أصدراه، إنّما ذلك في عمق الليل. أعرف أنّ الثلاثة هم ماءٌ حيٌّ واحد، وأنّ الواحد ينشأ من الآخر باستمرار، إنّما ذلك في عمق الليل. هذا الينبوع الأزليّ يجتمع كلّه، في خبزنا الحيّ كي يعطينا الحياة، إنّما ذلك في عمق الليل… ينبوع الماء الحيّ هذا، موضِع أشواقي، أراه في هذا الخبز الحقيقيّ، أتأمّله، إنّما ذلك في عمق الليل.

ولَمَّا رَأَوهُ سَجَدُوا لَهُ، بِرَغْمِ أَنَّهُم شَكُّوا.

What is this glory that the divine persons render to each other? In His essence God is not only great, magnus, but also the object of all praise. (Ps. 47:1) It is preeminently fitting that he should receive the glory due His majesty. It is fitting that He be glorified in himself by a praise corresponding to the immensity of power and wisdom, and of love which are in Him. The Father engenders the Son, from all eternity He communicates to Him that supreme gift, the life and the perfection of the divinity. He communicates to Him all that He is in himself except that which is proper to Him, His paternity. Being His perfect substantial image, the Word is the “the splendor of the Glory of the Father.’ (Heb. 1:3). Born of the focus of all light, His brilliance is reflected back like an unbroken canticle towards Him from whom He comes. “All things are mine and all that is mine is yours” (Jn 17:10) Thus by the natural impulse of His filiation the Son receiprocates to the Father all that He has from Him. The Holy Spirit, who is charity, has His exclusive source of origin in the love between the Father and the Son. This union of infinite love between the three persons effects the eternal communication of life in the bosum of the trinity, Such is the Glory which God renders to Himself in the sacred intimacy which is His eternal life.

There is one God, without principle, without cause, who cannot be limited either by someone prior to him, nor by a being who comes later. He is enveloped in eternity, infinite, very great Father of an only Son, good and great, whom he generates without undergoing anything carnal since he is spirit. God unique and other, but not other in his divinity, such is the Word of God. He is the imprint of the Father, the only Son of him who is without principle, the unique of the unique and his equal. While he remains the entire Father, he, the Son, is the author and master of the world, the force and thought of the Father. (…) Let us tremble before the greatness of the Spirit who is also God and through whom I have known God. He is clearly God and he gives birth to God here on earth. He is all-powerful, distributes various gifts, inspires the songs of the choir of the blessed; he gives life to celestial and terrestrial beings, sits on high, comes from the Father; he is the divine force, acts of his own movement, is not a Son because the excellent Father has only one Son full of goodness – but he is not outside the invisible divinity and he has equal glory.
