Saturday, April 6 : Book of hours of Sinai
You have resurrected from the dead, you the life of all, and an angel of light shouted to the women: “Stop crying, bring to the apostles the good news, sing the hymn to full throat: he is resurrected, the Christ Lord who so wanted, being God, to save the human race!” I heard, Lord, the mystery of your incarnation, I considered your works and I glorified your divinity. The rebel of rebels nailed you to the cross, Christ our God, and by this cross you saved, in your mercy, those who glorify your resurrection. By making me eat the fruit of the tree, once, the enemy had banished me from Eden: but thanks to the tree of the cross, All Good, I was recalled to my first dwelling. By your death, O master, death has been captured and put to death: for, being the substance of life, you gave life to the inhabitants of the tombs. Raised from the tomb, you have brought out with you all the dead in Hades and, in your mercy, you enlightened those who glorify your resurrection. O Mary Immaculate, beg God to whom you have given birth, to give your servants the forgiveness of their faults.
