Adoration of the three kings: the powerful of this world fell in front of the humble cradle of a child. Gold, incense, myrrh from East; Anxiety in their hearts, dust of paths traveled at night, guided by a star. “Where is he, the one who has just been born?” »… Twenty centuries have passed: many souls travel the ways of the earth like the Magi of the East and continue to ask by passing:” Have you seen the one my soul loves? “(CT 3,3) It is also a star of light which, illuminating our path, leads us to the humility of a crèche, and shows us what brought us out “outside the walls of the city ” (He 13.13; see LC 16,27). It shows us a god who, while being master of everything, lacks everything. The creator of light and the heat of the sun suffers from the cold; He who comes to the world out of love for men is forgotten by men. Now too, as then, there are souls who seek God … Unfortunately, not all of them can find him, they do not all look at the star which is faith; Nor do they dare to venture on these paths which lead to him, which are humility, renunciation, sacrifice and almost always the cross … When this night, in the choir, I remembered, unwittingly, of my childhood days, my house, kings, my monastic habit told me something else: I too, like the mages, I came to the search for a crèche. I am no longer a child to whom to give toys: dreams are now greater and they are not in this life. The dreams of the world, like the toys of children, make happiness when waiting for them, but then everything is only cardboard. The dreams of heaven – a dream that lasts all life and does not disappoint afterwards. As they must have returned happy, the Magi, after seeing God! I too will see it, it is only a question of waiting a little. The morning will arrive soon, and with him the light. What a happy awakening it will be!
