I walked on the earthly boulevard Of the wide and spacious way, In the abode of perdition, Where many follow this path. Direct my steps along the narrow path, Lighten me from the burden of sins, So that I can with the small group Fly light in the clouds of the sky. Let me enter through You, O sublime Door; Please lead me to your Heavenly Father By the tight and narrow way, Through righteous and divine conduct. But You who on the wicked who are so ungrateful And on the righteous, these good men, Also shed the dew of the rain And the light of the rising sun, On me also, wicked, dead in sin, On me, so ungrateful towards your kindness, Spread the dew of your Grace And spiritual Light!
