Tuesday, October 29 : Saint Nerses Chnorhali
The faith of a very small mustard seed, Figure of the kingdom, I have not received it in my soul, So that the mountains were transported. Neither, like the birds of the sky, I did not land on the branches of precept, Where pure souls rest, Heirs of the holy tabernacle of the heavens. (…) I became a yeast, old and without strength, And never, like the parable, the one that rises: The leaven that the woman hid in the dough, Like the mystery of your Church. This yeast, in fact, was taken from You first; Thanks to it the choirs of above were inspired; And when to our mass, coming from Adam, He was united, everything has risen. Alone, I am deprived of either one, As for the ineffable light of wisdom; Deign to make me a participant again, Please give me back what I lost.
