Wednesday, November 29 : Saint Pio of Pietralcina “Padre Pio”
Do not worry with the thought that the time of testing is still long. Better to suffer purgatory by the will of God than to revel in the cloister, pale prefiguration of the celestial Jerusalem. We can’t get to salvation without having crossed the agitated sea, which always threatens to be a tomb. I discern in you worry, a concern that prevents your patience from producing all its effects. “By your patience you will save your souls” (LC 21, 19), tells us the divine Master. It is therefore thanks to this that we will possess our soul; And the more it will be perfect, the more we will possess our soul entirely, perfectly, surely. So the less it will be mixed with worry and trouble, the more our patience will be perfect. (…) Give yourself entirely to your very sweet Spouse; lay your head on the heart of this tender husband, like a beloved disciple, because the celestial master will not allow that one hair shall be removed (cf. LC 12,7), as He did not allow it in Gethsemani for his disciples.
